Carlomoreno Volpini is the winner of the eighth edition of the MARIO NASCIMBENE AWARD.
The Award Jury chaired by director Francisco José Fernandez decided the winner of the Competition with the following motivation: "for the experimentation and in harmony with the spirit of Mario Nascimbene used in the Barabbas scene and for the respect for silences, of the dialogues and sound effects in the scene of I love you Eugenio.” The Jury was also composed of Alessandro Tartaglia Polcini (film producer), Marco Werba (composer) Gianluca Vacca (Parliamentarian and member of the VII Culture, Science and Education Commission of the Chamber of Deputies) and Mimma Montopoli (holder of the piano chair at the Conservatory “Luisa D'Annunzio” of Pescara.
Born in Prato to a family of musicians, Carlomoreno Volpini began studying at a very young age with his father, Moreno Volpini, subsequently graduating from the "L. Cherubini" Conservatory in Florence in violin, under the guidance of L. Gamberini in 1993. At the same time as the of his violin activity as an orchestra teacher he studied composition with one of the greatest exponents of the musical avant-garde, Salvatore Sciarrino, and orchestral conducting with Piero Bellugi, with whom he trained technically and musically on the symphonic repertoire (In 2004 he was assistant to the conducting courses held in Florence by Bellugi himself). He graduated brilliantly in '99, again at the "L. Cherubini" Conservatory in Florence, in experimental composition with Mauro Cardi and in orchestral conducting with Alessandro Pinzauti. In 2000 he perfected his operatic repertoire with D. Renzetti, at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and in 2002 at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Y. Ahronovitch, with whom he will tackle the romantic and late-romantic repertoire. To confirm his eclectic propensity for different musical languages, he followed, in 2004, again at the "Chigiana" in Siena, the film music course held by maestro Luis Bacalov.
